About

Karl Geckler’s work challenges how one sees the limitations of the material. His exploration creates daring, ever changing artwork while embracing the connection between negative and positive space. His designs illustrate the juxtaposition of materials as well as geometric and biomorphic shapes.

Karl Geckler is an American architect, sculptor and furniture designer based in Chicago. After graduating from Virginia Polytechnic Institute, Geckler found an allure in sculpture that eventually brought him to Pietrasanta, Italy to study stone carving. He has taught at Gallery 37 in Chicago and The Pietrasanta Marble Carving Studio in Italy. His sculptures are found in private collections throughout North America and Europe.
